Why your brand can appear on one AI engine and disappear on another
Different AI engines can recommend different businesses for the same need. A useful visibility assessment preserves those differences.
A pattern appears in our AI visibility audits at Karavix: a business is mentioned by one AI engine and absent from another answer to the same question.
For a marketing team, the practical consequence is clear. Checking a single engine leaves the behaviour of the others unobserved.
Different systems can produce different shortlists
AI engines differ in how they generate responses and, when web search is used, which sources they retrieve. Available features, question wording and conversation context can also affect the answer.
Two systems can therefore address the same customer need while presenting different businesses or different reasons for considering them. A source linked in one answer may not appear in the other.
That variation does not establish that one engine is right and the other is wrong. Each answer needs to be reviewed on its own terms, including the accuracy of the information and the relevance of the options.
Preserve the differences in the report
A combined overview can help a team orient itself, but the engine-level results remain useful. A brand may have a clear presence in one set of observations and an uncertain or limited presence elsewhere.
Keep the customer need comparable when looking across engines. Also distinguish a generated description from an answer supported by visible web references. The evidence available for review may differ.
Where a response was not obtained, show the gap. It cannot be interpreted as a confirmed absence of the brand.
Choose a scope that serves the business
At Karavix, monitoring several engines helps reveal where further investigation is needed. The appropriate scope begins with the markets and questions that matter to the company.
The useful outcome is a clearer understanding of the buying situations in which a brand appears, together with evidence for the next decision.
